Christensen’s Historic Goal for FC Barcelona

Andreas Christensen Achieves Milestones for FC Barcelona in Champions League

Andreas Christensen had much to celebrate on his 28th birthday. Not only did he score the winning goal in Paris, but he also made history as the second quickest substitute to score for Barça in Champions League history. Previously held by Bojan Krkic, Christensen’s goal came just 50 seconds after stepping onto the pitch during a memorable 4-0 victory against Stuttgart.

In addition to this record-breaking feat, Christensen also etched his name in the annals of FC Barcelona history as the first player ever to score a Champions League goal for the club on his birthday.

This goal marked Christensen’s second in the Champions League, with his first for the club following his transfer from Chelsea. While Martin Braithwaite holds the title of Barça’s highest-scoring Dane in the Champions League era with three goals, Michael Laudrup’s four goals in the old format European Cup also stand out. However, Barça’s highest-scoring Dane in European competitions overall remains Allen Simonsen with nine goals, none of which were scored in the prestigious Champions League.

Andreas Christensen’s remarkable performance adds another memorable chapter to FC Barcelona’s illustrious Champions League history.
